Hello All,

We have just solved a mystery of a stainless steel quick disconnect failure in one of our customer's micro-breweries. The order came through for LL3K21 303 Stainless Steel equal to FD45-1004-06-06 seen here: http://hosewarehouse.com/LL3K21-303-Stainless-Steel-Quick-Disconnect-replaces-FD45-1004-06-06?filter_name=fd45-1004

We received this message:
We are a brewery and use an alkaline solution (super ALK HD) diluted in water, an acid solution (Microlox special 70) diluted in water, and a ph neutral sanitizer.  A lot of CO2 runs through them also.  We have other connectors that we have been using for over seven years that still appear new. and sent these pictures:

After a little investigating, we found that 303 stainless in not suitable for his brewing application and that they should be using 316 Stainless Steel, which is part ML6KP31

If you have hose ends, quick disconnects or fittings that are starting to show signs like the pictures - please use 316 Stainless steel. We would be glad to help if you need us! Post your questions on this forum, preferably with pictures and let us see how we can help!
